delegate message loses "On Behalf of..." verbage when e-mail is forwarded by recipient
Microsoft Outlook 2007 from Enterprise 2007. Windows XP Operating system on desktop. Exchange server 2007. When a secretary sends a message on behalf of her boss to a recipient outside the firm's Exchange environment, and then one of the recipients forwards that message to someone else, the "On Behalf of..." gets lost and the message appears to be from the secretary only. This only happens on messages sent outside the exchange environment. If the recipient appears on the GAL, then the "On Behalf of..." verbage stays with the message upon forwarding. WHY? Is there a way to fix this issue? How can this verbage possibly be lost on a forwarde message? This is really huge and could have legal ramifications. Thanks for any help

This cannot be fixed because technically the "on behalf of" bit is an Exchange feature. It requires support of the client at the other end to support it, and once you go outside Exchange, all bets are off on this functionality working in a predictable manner. It continues to work inside the Exchange org because it is an Exchange feature. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP. http://blog.sembee.co.uk , http://exbpa.com/

The "on behalf of" is shown when there's a "Sender:" header in the message whose address is different to the "From:" header's address. But whether or not other e-mail systems, or e-mail clients, display that relationship in the same way the MS clients do is something that you have no control over. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
